I love the fact that the author is helping to free so many from indoctrinated fear based on doctrines that he calmly unravels based on common sense and reasoning. Atheists, or just people who believe in rational thought, are often seen as angry, hateful people.
He is the creator and host of The Thinking Atheistfrmo the author of the self-published books Deconverted and Sacred Cows.
Showing that God Exists. It is about thinking for oneself. I found Deconverted to be an enjoyable, relatable, and inspiring read.
I started reading it and couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I am curious and read a wide variety of books, many covering evolution and other “heretical” ideas.
Learning to think for yourself is much more difficult if you have been brought up religious. Yes, there there are “liberal” Christians here, as well as a few Muslims, about 25 Jews, possibly a few Hindus, although I haven’t seen any, some agnostics, some atheists, but no place to really gather and not be in church, because the only alternative is the Unitarian CHURCH, and while it’s a catchall for all beliefs and while they tend to make fun of fundies, it’s still called a “church,” so that kind of defeats the purpose.
On the surface, both Andrews and Batchelor were part of their respective clergy. It is the story lived by many thousands of people in America and around the World every day–a story that could very well be your story of doubt and loss of religious faith.

This is an excellent gift or loaner if deconvverted have family members who don’t understand how you could have deviated from how you were raised. Want to Read Currently Reading Read. See 1 question about Deconverted…. I always enjoyed Seth’s atheist show, so hearing that he was releasing a book I was interested.
This book is a great froj opener seeing the way the mind can change and how leaving religion inspired Seth to help many others leave their own religious beliefs He explains some of the fallacious thinking exhibited by Christians as well as some of the discrepancies or contradictions in the bible, and as a result, comes to the conclusion that both reason and faith in the Christian god cannot be reconciled.
The God Delusion is not geared toward converting those strongly attached to their faith, but it certainly reminds those questioning that they are not alone. It definitely described my journey and frustration trying to find like minded people.
This book is a great read and I suggest it religikn for the religious folks who are curious about the fom nonbelievers view things or for a person struggling with their own faith. This book is just what I needed to refresh my quest to find the truth The slowly dawning acknowledgment that a so-called religioon book was instead full of inconsistencies and that the Deconverted: It is about questioning and searching for answers.
He went boldly forth and has set and admirable example. This book helps to give an inside-out look at the protestant Christian culture in the United States, and it will hopefully encourage others as rellgion deal with the difficult questions in their own journeys toward truth.
Another thing is that, as much as I enjoyed that I already knew part of the story, from being a long time listener it’s like being in on a secret in a way I also felt that this book didn’t have as much to offer those of us who are long time fans, simply because of that.

Seth opened up a new world for me. This is an Oklahoma-born guy who was raised by bible scholars, went to Christian schools, and ended up in Christian radio. His attempts to reconcile faith and the facts led him to a conclusion previously unthinkable, and this once-true believer ultimately became the founder of one of the most popular atheist communities on the internet, ‘The Thinking Atheist.
